Ken Bevis is the speaker for this months Kittitas Audubon meeting via Zoom at 7 p.m., Thursday.

Bevis is the stewardship biologist for the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Small Forest Landowner office. Bevis will provide a guided, even-handed discussion of the biological basis for, and ensuing legal responses and protections for several iconic species. “Four words you never say in public as a biologist are spotted owl, murrelet and wolf, unless you are just looking for trouble”, he said.

In this talk, he says all of those and hopefully elicits discussion and understanding of where we are and where we might be going with these species.
