Police | Kittcom received the following calls on Aug. 5-6 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • A non-injury collision involving a Dodge Ram and a Ford Escort was reported on West Capitol Avenue and South Water Street.
  • A vehicle prowl was reported on North Main Street.
  • A non-injury collision involving a Chevy pickup and a smaller passenger car was reported on East Umptanum Road and South Canyon Road.
  • A scooter reportedly was struck by a vehicle on Suncadia Trail.
  • A dog reportedly was running loose on East Umptanum Road.
  • A small dog reportedly was running in and out of traffic on South Pine Street and East Capitol Avenue.
  • A person reportedly called from their emergency phone o Deception Pass Trail.
  • A vehicle reportedly was parked on the railroad tracks with the driver slumped over the wheel on Nelson Siding Road.
  • Fireworks were reported on Brook Lane.
  • A hit and run was reported on East First Street in Cle Elum.
  • DVDs reportedly were stolen on East Mountain View Avenue.
  • A man and a woman reportedly were running down the middle of the street on East First Street and North Bullitt Avenue in Cle Elum.
  • A vehicle reportedly was driving down South Main Street with an unsecured load of rock in the back.
  • A laptop reportedly was stolen from a vehicle at the Indian John Rest Stop on I-90.
  • There was a report that a gray cow looked to be in pain, possibly because of a really full udder on Kittitas Highway. The cow was also in the sun.
  • Two cell phones reportedly was taken from a vehicle on Canyon Road.
  • Gas reportedly was spilling from a vehicle on West Bender Road.
  • A hit and run was reported on East University Way.
  • There was a report of a cat in vehicle on North Ruby Street. The reporting party was concerned because of the high temperature.
  • A man reportedly walked up to three women on West First Street in Cle Elum. offered them a dollar and asked if they wanted to have a good time.
  • There was a report of nine illegally parked scooters on North First Street and East Pennsylvania Avenue.

Fire | Kittcom received the following calls on Aug. 5-6 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • A fire was reported in a backyard on West Mount Adams Court.
  • A smoke investigation was reported on Interstate 90, east bound, mile post 93.

Arrests | The following people were booked in Kittitas County Jail from Aug. 5-6 (Bail and arresting agency information not available for all bookings):

  • A 26-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance. Bail $5,000.
  • A 39-year-old Cle Elum man was arrested by Cle Elum-Roslyn-South Cle Elum Police officers for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence. No bail.
  • A 28-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for first-degree criminal trespass. Bail $1,000.
  • A 34-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence. No bail.
