Police | Kittcom received the following calls on Aug. 6-7 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • A man reportedly was running in and out of traffic on East Umptanum Road.
  • A thin man with long brown hair reportedly was hiding behind the bushes on South Canyon Road.
  • A person reportedly was hitting a vehicle with a metal rod on East University Way and North Alder Street.
  • A man reportedly was riding a lay-down bicycle partially in the roadway on Look Road and Alford Road.
  • A boat reportedly had been tied up to the dock blocking the Vantage boat launch for the past two days. The reporting party believed the boat owner might be squatting on Main Street in Vantage.
  • A non-injury collision involving a Camaro and a Nissan was reported on East Ninth Avenue and East University Way.
  • A vehicle reportedly ran into a storage unit on Salmon la Sac Road.
  • A cat reportedly was stuck between a ceiling and the subfloor of a house on West Idaho Street in Roslyn.
  • A person reported an “ex” broke into the reporting party’s residence took several items and then sent pictures of the items he took, including a dog, on Cooke Canyon Road.
  • Mail reportedly was stolen on East First Street in Cle Elum.
  • A non-injury collision involving a Honda Pilot and a Subaru Outback was reported on Lake Cabins Road.
  • A man reportedly came into an Craig Avenue business and asked for water. The man was given water, told he was not a member and then asked to leave. The man continued to loiter outside and the concern was he would come back in a ask for more stuff.
  • There was a report that human female hair particles were found in a white camping trailer on the side of the road on Mitchell Road and Manastash Road. There was a large bag in the trailer and the concern was there could be a body in the bag.
  • A two-vehicle collision was reported on East First Street in Cle Elum. A woman was screaming outside of one of the vehicles.
  • A dead squirrel was reported in the middle island of a parking lot near the south entrance of a South Water Street business.
  • Someone reportedly threw rocks through the windows of vehicles parked on Game Farm Road.
  • There was a report that people driving a Dodge Durango through a campground off Kachess Road were told to slow down. There was an exchange of words and the driver responded that he would “throw some hot lead at him.”
  • A hit and run was reported on 10th Avenue.
  • A man reportedly was on the Challenge Court off East 18th Avenue alone. The man was in the net with a flashlight.
  • A black horse reportedly was in the roadway on Westside Road.
  • Prescription medication reportedly was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on South Chestnut Street.
  • A man reportedly came to a door asking for cigarettes, marijuana or water East Seattle Avenue.

Fire | Kittcom received the following calls on Aug. 6-7 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • A woman reported she went to start her car and it started smoking and smelled of burning plastic on West Ninth Avenue.
  • An outside fire was reported on Iron Mountain Road near Cle Elum.

Arrests | The following people were booked in Kittitas County Jail from Aug. 6-7 (Bail and arresting agency information not available for all bookings):

  • A 23-year-old Prosser man was arrested by Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies for third-degree driving with a suspended license. Bail $5,000.
  • A 27-year-old University Place man was arrested by State Patrol troopers for failure to appear for third-degree driving with a suspended license. Bail $10,000.
  • A 37-year-old Renton man was arrested by State Patrol troopers of possession/delivery of cocaine. No bail.
  • A 38-year-old Everett man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for failure to appear for third-degree driving with a suspended license. Bail $10,000.
