Police | Kittcom received the following calls on Dec. 7-9 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • An assault was reported on East Mountain View Avenue.
  • A man reportedly was going through a person’s trash cans and cussing on West Ninth Avenue.
  • Mail was reported stolen on South Main Street.
  • There was a report of vehicles driving the wrong way in an alley on East University Way and North Wildcat Way.
  • A man reportedly got out of a vehicle wearing latex gloves and carrying a screwdriver. The concern was he was trying to change a license plate.
  • A non-injury collision was reported on East Mountain View Avenue.
  • A shoplifter reportedly was in custody on South Water Street.
  • A vehicle reportedly hit a big deer on Vantage Highway and Parke Creek. The vehicle was damaged and the deer was still alive.
  • A large stainless steel water trough reportedly was stolen on Game Farm Road.
  • A hit and run was reported on Forest Service Road 4571-117.
  • There was a report of a man trying to sell heroin on South Main Street.
  • A backpack containing a laptop and a wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle on North Willow Street.
  • A vehicle was reported in a ditch off of Riverbottom Road and Umptanum Road.
  • A red pickup reportedly was in a ditch, almost on its side on North Ferguson Road and Kittitas Highway.
  • A purse reportedly was stolen from a vehicle East 18th Avenue. The vehicle was not locked.
  • A mailbox reportedly was smashed on Sorenson Road.
  • The sideview mirror on a pickup reportedly was damaged on North Sampson Street.
  • There was a report that a transformer blew and a power pole was down on Lincoln Avenue in South Cle Elum.
  • There was a report that someone punched and damaged a front door on state Route 970.
  • There was a report that a woman called Kittcom dispatch believing there was a state law that if a citizen requested a ride from an officer, they can give one. She wanted a ride from Cle Elum to Ellensburg.
  • A group of juveniles reportedly opened a vehicle parked on North Willow Street.
  • A man in a black hat, a brown Carhartt jacket and a lit cigarette reportedly approached an employee at an register at a store on North Ruby Street and asked if they had any money. No weapon was displayed and he left carrying a large bag.
  • There was a report of a man laying on the railroad tracks and then getting up and jumping near passing vehicles on West Umptanum Road and South Canyon Road.
  • A horse reportedly was in and out of the roadway on Thorp Cemetery Road.
  • A woman reported she found a jacket in her vehicle containing multiple identifications from other countries, all in different names on North Brook Lane.
  • There was a report that a small shack near Kiwanis Park on West 14th Avenue appeared to have been vandalized.
  • A white box van reportedly was in a ditch off o Lyons Road and Naneum Road.

Fire | Kittcom received the following calls on Dec. 7-9 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • A person reportedly was burning pine needles on Hundley Road near Cle Elum.
  • A slash pile reportedly was burning on Upper Peoh Point Road and Casassa Road.

Arrests | The following people were booked in Kittitas County Jail from Dec. 7-9 (Bail and arresting agency information not available for all bookings):

  • A 27-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for failure to appear for possession of a controlled substance, failure to comply with unlawful possession of a legend drug and obstructing a public servant. Bail $7,000.
  • A 43-year-old Wapato man was arrested by State Patrol troopers for failure to appear for third-degree driving with a suspended license. Bail $15,000.
  • A 41-year-old Stanwood man was arrested by State Patrol troopers for third-degree driving with a suspended license. Bail $500.
  • A 62-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for failure to appear for third-degree driving with a suspended license. Bail $1,000.
  • A 61-year-old Easton man was arrested by Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies for probation violation/reckless endangerment and probation violation/third-degree malicious mischief. Bail $5,100.
  • A 45-year-old Lake Tapps man was arrested by Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies for for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence. Bail $5,000.
  • A 42-year-old Snoqualmie Pass man was arrested by Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies for fourth-degree assault. Bail $1,000.
  • A 24-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for second-degree assault/domestic violence. Bail $15,000.
  • A 43-year-old Seattle man was arrested by State Patrol troopers for driving with under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Bail $5,000.
