Police | Kittcom received the following calls on Oct. 23-24 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • A man in his late 50s with facial hair and wearing a hoodie reportedly appeared to be smoking something out of a beer can on North Dolarway and going through boxes behind a building.
  • A hit and run was reported on West Washington Avenue.
  • There was a report of an ongoing problem with dogs chasing vehicles on Upper Badger Pocket Road.
  • A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported on North Alder Street.
  • A large amount of glass reportedly fell out of a van onto the roadway on South Water Street.
  • A large husky reportedly was running up and down the street on North Chestnut Street.
  • Five or six windows reportedly were broken on Dunnagan Avenue near Cle Elum.
  • A chocolate Lab reportedly was running around parking lot on South Water Street.
  • A woman reportedly was on the roof of a building on North Pearl Street.
  • A non-injury collision was reported in the roundabout on University Way.
  • A white horse was reported in the roadway on Riverbottom Road.
  • A black cow was reported in the roadway on Thorp Cemetery Road.
  • A man reported he was driving into town and a van stopped in the roadway on West Umptanum. The van driver got out and told him his headlights were too high and he needed to turn them off.
  • A short, slender person (unknown if male or female) possibly wearing snow pants reportedly yelled “you can’t take this away from me” outside of a convenience store on Main Street.
  • An assault was reported on Main Street in Kittitas.
  • A man reportedly had been lingering around the front door of a business on West University Way for about 30 minutes and was refusing to leave.
  • A vehicle reportedly was driving east bound in the west bound lane on Interstate 90.

Fire | Kittcom received the following calls on Oct. 23-24 (calls are made to the 911 line and the non-emergency business line):

  • An outside fire was reported on Old Cedars Road.
  • A semi truck trailer brake fire was reported on Interstate 90, west bound, mile post 131.

Arrests | The following people were booked in Kittitas County Jail from Oct. 23-24 (Bail and arresting agency information not available for all bookings):

  • A 33-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for failure to appear for felony charges. Bail $1,000.
  • A 70-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Kittitas County Sheriff’s deputies for failure to appear for false swearing and failure to appear for firearm transfer/sale violation. Bail $1,000.
  • A 24-year-old Ellensburg man was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers for misdemeanor violation of a protection order. No bail.
