Cristela Alonzo is headlining the CWU homecoming entertainment this October.

Comedian and actress Cristela Alonzo will headline Central Washington University’s Homecoming entertainment with a show at 8 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Student Union and Recreation Center Ballroom, according to a news release.

Last year, Alonzo had a Netflix special, titled “Lower Classy.” She also became the first Latina to create, produce and star in her own network TV sitcom, “Cristela.” She has performed on “Conan,” worked crowds on Comedy Central specials and shared the stage with fellow comedians at the annual “Comics for a Cause” charity event. She also voiced the “Cars 3” character, Cruz Ramirez.

In her comedy, Alonzo dives into topics like immigration, identity, life on the road and more.
