Central Washington University has hired of Arturo Torres as the university’s new Registrar, according to a news release.

Torres, who previously served as an assistant registrar at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will begin on July 16.

Torres began his career in higher education in 2005 as an administrative assistant in the Office of the Registrar at Nevada State College in Las Vegas. He later moved to the same office at UNLV, where he oversaw academic scheduling as well as document management, ticketing management, and the registrar social media and website.

Torres earned his BA in Public Administration, Law Enforcement from Nevada State College in 2013, and his MA in Public Administration, Non-Profit Management from UNLV in 2015.

The Registrar’s Office is responsible for student registration and enrollment, degree check-out, transfer articulation, and student record information.
