Applications are still being accepted for this year's Ellensburg Rodeo Parade on Labor Day weekend in downtown Ellensburg.

The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1 and will follow the same route as past years, starting on the corner of Alder Street and University Way. It will head west on University Way then south on Pearl Street through downtown Ellensburg.

Brian Twardoski, Ellensburg Rodeo Board member and director of this year’s parade, said they are still accepting applications to the parade. Applications are due by Aug. 6 and can be found on the rodeo's website at

“We always have over 100 entries ranging from marching bands, horseback riders, youth groups, and many other community organizations,” Twardoski said.

The Grand Marshal for this year is Mike Allen, a local who has been involved with the rodeo for many years and helped found the Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame.

“It is always a great opportunity to meet and connect with the excitement our community has for each other and the great event the fair and rodeo put on for our county,” Twardoski said.

The parade will be arriving in downtown at about 9:45 a.m.
