Stabbing suspect

Scott Newsom is wanted for first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and third-degree malicious mischief by the Ellensburg Police Department.

The Ellensburg Police Department identified the suspect from Saturday’s North Water Street knife assault as 19-year-old Scott Newsom.

An arrest warrant for first-degree assault, first-degree burglary and third-degree malicious mischief has been issued for Newsom in connection with the stabbing that took place at a home on the 2500 block of North Water Street.

Police said the assault was not random and the suspect and victim knew one another. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries.
