Cascade Cow Cutters

Competitors from Washington, Oregon and Idaho competed in a Cascade Cow Cutters event in Bloom Pavilion this past weekend.

Cascade Cow Cutters, organizer OF cow-cutting activities in the Kittitas Valley for over 40 years, held a Youth Spectacular this past Saturday and Sunday in Bloom Pavilion, according to event organizers.

The event was open to all youth cutters. Washington, Idaho and Oregon champion high school cutters and their friends came to compete for a special $1,000 bonus award that would help get them to Wyoming and the 2019 High School Rodeo Association National Finals starting in just a few days.

There were 14 riders divided between junior (under 10 years old) and senior (ages 11 to 18 years) in the pen riding their best. Great horses came with them.

Ellensburg’s Cynthia Johnson won the reserve championship, getting $400 for her efforts.
