An Ellensburg man faces charges of rape of a child and unlawful imprisonment.

Luis Sanchez-Vargas, 21, of Ellensburg was arrested by Ellensburg Police officers on March 1 and faces charges of second-degree rape, third-degree rape of a child and unlawful imprisonment, according to the police report.

A 14-year-old girl told officers she was raped by Sanchez-Vargas, according to the police report. The girl reported that on Feb. 28 Sanchez-Vargas picked her up to take her to get ice cream.
