The Ellensburg School District Board of Directors voted unanimously to approve OAC EDU as the construction management firm for the remodel of Lincoln Elementary School and Mount Stuart Elementary School, as well as a new elementary school that would be built north of Mount Stuart.

All three projects are on a $59.5 million bond request that will be presented to voters this November.

ESD Business Director Brian Aiken said there is a quick timeline that the district wants to get started on, and it’s normal for these processes to get going in anticipation of a bond passing.

The district received six applications from different construction management firms, and Aiken said OAC EDU was by far the favorite when reviewed by district staff.

“A lot of their experience is with school districts our size,” Aiken said. “A similar scope, wetlands mitigation, things like that. They came on top for everybody.”
