KITTITAS VALLEY — Victorio Riojas, 50, of Kennewick, was injured Monday afternoon when the vehicle he was driving failed to stop for slowing traffic in the southbound lane of Interstate 82 south of Ellensburg and struck another vehicle, according a Washington State Patrol report.

Charges are pending against Riojas for allegedly following traffic too closely.

The report indicated Riojas' 2004 Cadillac Escalade struck a 2011 Jeep Cherokee driven by Robert Naumann, 35, of Baltimore.

Naumann was not injured, but the WSP report said Riojas received unspecified injuries and was taken to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in Ellensburg. A spokesperson for the hospital said Riojas was not treated at KVCH.

Both vehicles were towed by McIntosh Towing.
