A Kittitas girl was killed in a car accident on Tjossem Road near No. 6 Road on Tuesday, June 18.

A GoFundMe account has been created to help the family of 13-year old Leah Del Angel who was killed in the collision, which has caused an outpour of public support as families grieve the young girl’s unexpected death.

On the GoFundMe page, friends and community members expressed their condolences to Leah’s family. As of the time of publication $5,920 has been raised working toward a $10,000 goal.

“They’re like family to us. It’s been a rough few days. She was a great kid and she was at our house three hours before it happened playing on the tire swing,” Holly Downey, a family friend said.

Downey described Del Angel as being a tomboy and not afraid to keep up with the neighborhood boys.

“She was kind of part of the boy tribe in the neighborhood,” Downey said.

Downey said Leah’s family is need of help during this time of loss.

Community members are welcomed or invited to contribute to this GoFundMe account aiding the family. https://www.gofundme.com/leah-del-angel-memorial-fund
