The Kittitas County Fire District 7 Board of commissioners will be conducting a special meeting on Saturday, according to a press release.

The meeting is a joint meeting of Upper County fire services to discuss collaboration and relations among neighboring agencies and fire adaptive communities.

The meeting is being held at 3 p.m. at the Last Resort Restaurant in the upstairs dining area at 14254 Salmon La Sac Road in Ronald and is open to the public.

Kittitas County Fire Districts 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 and 51 from South Cle Elum, Cle Elum and Roslyn are scheduled to have representatives at the meeting.

Fire District 7 Secretary Eryn Micallef said they’re expecting about 20 people to attend the meeting, most of them from fire districts in Upper County.

The districts decided it would be beneficial to meet before wildfire season starts and discuss mutual training opportunities.

“We do want to hear from the public,” Micallef said.
