Firefighters knocked down a wildfire which burned about 600 acres in Grant County on Sunday evening near George, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sunland Fire burned sagebrush and grassland in the Silica Road area. The fire started just after 4 p.m. Firefighters had it under control and were dealing with hot spots by 8:30 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office.
