To the Editor:

My husband, Phil, and I are supporting Nancy Lillquist for Kittitas County Commissioner. Since her qualifications have already been enumerated in previous letters to the editor, I’ll just add this to the list: she’s a peach!

And:

1) Nancy would not have purchased Shady Acres or the bowling alley. She would’ve used grant money to bring our rodeo stands up to code.

2) Nancy graduated from Central Washington University in geography. She has deep knowledge of our valley’s land. Inspired by Ken Hammond’s course in Environmental Studies (at CWU), Nancy went on to obtain her Master’s in Water Resources at Washington State University. She understands flood plains, urban and suburban development and weather, as these issues affect one another in general, and more importantly as we are specifically affected by them here in the Kittitas Valley.

3.) Regarding the “bike-way” on Seventh Avenue, most of the funding allocated in the 1990s for this project was from grant monies, and over time, the bike use has increased and will continue to increase.

Elect our peach Nancy Lillquist for Kvalley’s county commissioner.
