To the Editor,

The upcoming August primary presents us with a great opportunity to fill our County Commissioner Position One with one of the best city council women to ever serve in local government. Nancy Lillquist has been immersed in the issues that have defined Ellensburg and the surrounding area for two decades. She is exceptionally qualified. Nancy will bring the same insight, collaborative ability, and deep knowledge that have made her an outstanding City Council member to the County Commissioners.

Beyond her vast government experience, Nancy has a master’s degree in Water Resource Management, a vital prerequisite to understanding the water issues facing our county. Her stints as mayor in 2008 and 2009 assure us that she is no stranger to the administrative functions of a county commissioner.

And finally, she’s just so darn nice. In our era of divisive government, I’ve never heard anyone say a bad word about her, even when she was leading city government through some of its most divisive issues. She was even named by the Daily Record as the best elected official in the county.

Please join me in voting for Nancy Lillquist for County Commissioner Position One. We can’t pass up this opportunity to put a real expert in local government on the county commissioners.
