To the Editor:

After touring the new Morgan Middle School with my seventh-grader, I would like to thank the people of Ellensburg for working together to create such a great facility. While the discussions, various votes, and construction were time consuming and occasionally tense, the facility resulting from that long process is worth the effort. Additionally, with my oldest just entering EHS as a freshman, I have a new perspective on that facility. Again, I can't thank the community and citizenry enough for providing that quality learning space.

While my youngest will shortly leave Mount Stuart, I look forward to throwing my support behind the the Nov. 6 ballot to improve school buildings for future generations of children, as well as the effort to expand the capacity of the elementary schools in the city. Certainly our youngest kids deserve buildings that are safe, uncrowded, and in good repair. Ellensburg is a great place to raise kids, and I think that we can all agree that if we want those kids to raise their children here, an investment in the education infrastructure is worth the sacrifice.
