To the Editor:

I worked with Nancy for 10 years in my capacity as former director of the Ellensburg Public Library. I have the highest regard for her talents to lead our county's growth as well as she has worked with others to lead the city's.

Nancy is prudent. When the word came to me as I was writing this endorsement I had to look it up to make sure it was the word I was looking for. Webster says “capable of exercising sound judgment in practical matters” and “managing carefully and with economy.” Perfect to describe Nancy Lillquist!

As library director, when I went to council to ask for funds for the library I knew she would ask the tough questions and I had to be prepared. She was always fair and thoughtful with her decisions. I appreciate Nancy’s work ethic. Time and again I watched her spend the time necessary to study and understand the issues and work toward collaborative solutions.

The county will be in competent hands with Nancy Lillquist as County Commissioner.
