To the Editor:

I would like to offer my unqualified endorsement for Nancy Lillquist for Kittitas County commissioner. I have known Nancy for 20 years and respect her dedication and commitment to the long-term success of our community. Having served on the council with her for nine years, I can honestly say that I considered her to be the hardest working, most prepared council member. She always researched and listened to all sides on issues and made decisions that were supported by the facts. She often set aside her own personal opinion and voted for what she believed was best long-term policy for the community.

Nancy is a subject matter expert on local water, transportation and development issues. She is fiscally conservative but supportive of the employees who work at the city. She holds staff accountable but understands that people who work for the city are assets, not liabilities to be casually discarded and easily replaced.

Nancy Lillquist is qualified. She is willing to serve without ego and will make reasoned decisions that balance the needs of our community stakeholders. In short, she is exactly what you want in an elected official.
