To the Editor:

Christine M. Flowers in her Column  (Daily Record Dec. 2) "Trump right to stand up for SEAL" notes Chief Petty Officer Eddie Gallagher... made the mistake of posing for a photograph with a dead ISIS combatant."

By contrast Marine Vietnam Veteran Richard B. Ellenberger in Northwest Voices (The Seattle Times Dec. 2nd) "Criminal Actions do not merit support" notes "Navy Seal Edward Gallagher, accused of shooting innocent civilians, including a young girl, and knifing an unarmed teen fighter in custody, has President Donald Trump's support." Here we have two perspectives of the polarization gripping our nation.
