Thumbs up to repaved path

Thumbs up to half of the public skate/bike path at Ellensburg High School that’s been re-paved and swept of rocks and debris. There are precious few places in Ellensburg that are legal for roller skaters, and I appreciate the effort that it takes to keep these spaces clean and clear of debris, to keep the walkers, skaters and bikers safe.

Thumbs up to funnel cloud

Since the funnel cloud did not pick up a farm house and carry it off to Kansas, it is possible to just enjoy the rare (for Kittitas County) weather occurrence. It has been an interesting summer of weather in Kittitas County, so far absent a stretch of extreme heat. We’ll see what the rest of the summer holds in store.

Thumbs down to card skimming

Devotees of the police blotter are well aware of the reports of card skimming at gas pumps and ATMs. Card skimmers are used by thieves who use them to acquire your card numbers and then use them for nefarious purposes. If something appears wonky at the pump or ATM report it to the business and the police.

Thumbs up to EHS marching band

One of the joys of late summer life in Ellensburg is hearing and seeing the EHS marching band practice through the residential neighborhoods. The band will be practicing for the next couple of weeks in preparation for its Ellensburg Rodeo Parade performance so keep your ears and eyes open.

Thumbs up to entering stuff in the fair

With the fair rapidly approaching so are the deadlines for entering the wide range of competitions at the fair. It is a blast to see what our neighbors can do whether it is photography or baked goods. Best of luck to all entering fair competitions this year.
