Melville “Mel” Wilson, former longtime Kittitas mayor and councilman known for his hard work and dedication to the city, lost his struggle against cancer when he died Nov. 22 during a brief stay in a local nursing home, he was 87.

Peoh Point Grange will dissolve as membership has dwindled. The Grange building will revert to the Cle Elum School District which sold the building to the grange of $1 in 1928 with the understanding, should the grange stop using the building, it would go back to the school district. The closure of the Peoh Point Grange will leave the Swauk-Teanaway Grange as the last one in Upper County.
