The 10U Ellensburg All Stars boys baseball team took second at the State Tournament this past weekend after a hard fought battle versus Wenatchee, who has been the team’s rival all season.

Ellensburg beat both Cashmere and Port Angeles on Friday. Saturday, Ellensburg was victorious over Whatcom but unfortunately lost to Wenatchee.

However, its winning streak secured its spot in Championship Sunday. Sunday morning, Ellensburg 10U rallied and beat Spokane to make it to the Championship Round and lost by two to Wenatchee in a close match.

Ellensburg was up early, but Wenatchee caught up. The silver lining is that Washington State Cal Ripken All Stars Baseball is allowed to promote two teams to the Pacific Northwest Regionals in Eugene, Oregon. Both Wenatchee and Ellensburg 10U will be Washington state representatives.
