An annual tradition since 2012, giant puppets will roam the streets during the Buskers in the Burg parade. Hours and hours of work are done to prepare these larger-than-life works of art, and you can be a part of that process.

Every weekend until the event on Sept. 28, local puppeteer Brian Kooser holds puppet-making workshops at 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays on Second Avenue and Pine Street behind the Bluestone Academy in Ellensburg. The theme for 2019 is “Air.”

According to the Buskers website, Kooser shares his more than 20 years of celebration art experience along with the necessary tools for participants of all ages and skill levels to create their own puppets. Funding is provided by the Ellensburg Downtown Association and the Ellensburg Arts Commission.
