Valley Musical Theatre’s summer musical “The Music Man” is continuing its run this weekend with shows at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The performances are at the Morgan Performing Arts Center and tickets are $15 and available at Jerrol’s, the door or onlinle at vmtmusicman.brownpapertickets.com.

The show chronicles professor Harold Hill, a traveling con man who arrives in River City and convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing the uniforms and instruments from him. His intention is to flee as soon as he receives the money. Librarian Marian Paroo suspects Harold is a fraud, but holds her tongue since her young brother, Winthrop, is excited about the band. As Harold begins to develop feelings for Marian, he faces a difficult decision about skipping town.

The cast of community members portray the citizens of River City, Iowa.

Concessions will be available for cash only and all proceeds go to benefit future Valley Musical Theatre productions.
