Box of Fame

Local rodeo enthusiasts and art lovers gather at a special showing at the Western Culture and Art Center to view the Box of Fame work done by local artists to raise money for the Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame on Friday night.

The First Friday Art Walk runs from 5-7 p.m. in downtown Ellensburg. Here’s a look at what’s showing:

Restorations in the Burg, new, 312 N. Pine St.: Drop by and visit with the owners and some of creative contributors at Restorations in the Burg. Talk paint, technic and the process of restoring the appeal.

The Mule, new, 119 E. Fourth Ave.: Featuring artist Ashley Clayton/linocut prints “Wide-Eyed.”

Youth Services of Kittitas County, new, 213 W. Third Ave.: Hosting an Art Rocks event from 5 to 6:30 to do art on rocks.

Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame — At the WCAC, the Ellensburg Rodeo Hall of Fame is showing the “Boxes of Fame” featuring 20 artists with unique boxes to be auction off on Aug. 29 at the ERHOF Induction Banquet and Auction at CWU. Also featured is the “Volunteers of the Ellensburg Rodeo” display in the McGiffin room along with the Quilt Raffle.

Goodey Gallery/Western Art Association — Western Art Associations’ Goodey Gallery is showing artwork of our signature members.

420 Gallery, new, 420 N. Pearl St.: The second annual Femme Locale exhibit showcases work by more than 30 Kittitas County women, including painting, sculpture, mixed media and textile art.
